S6 | E63 Birth Trauma: The Silenced Reality of Postpartum with Teela Tomassetti

Trigger Warning: This episode discusses birth trauma.

A few years ago Teela decided to pursue her Doctorate with a specialty in birth trauma due to her best friend's experience. Little did she know she would encounter her own birth trauma last year by way of midwifery violence and an excessive hemorrhage almost taking her life.

She’s made it her mission to create a safe space to explore birth trauma survivors' experiences, challenging the expectations that we hold, advocating for change, and supporting survivors in discovering their healing. Teela shares advice on how to heal if you’re the one in three who have experienced birth trauma, and how to support others who have survived it.

Teela Shares:

  1. Teela’s personal journey of becoming an advocate and a safe place for those who have experienced birth trauma

  2. Tools to help yourself or anyone around you that has experienced birth trauma
